— Our Company
A small firm that does a few things with care.
Slatebridge is a Kuala Lumpur-based advisory practice. We work with businesses on the organisational questions that sit between day-to-day operations and longer-term planning.
Back to Home— Our Story
How Slatebridge came to be
Slatebridge started in 2019 as a response to a recurring pattern. The founders — both with backgrounds in operational consulting — kept meeting companies that had solid customer relationships and good internal knowledge, but no reliable way to organise or act on either. The journey maps were in people's heads. The market understanding was scattered across email threads. Feedback arrived but did not travel far.
The firm's name reflects its orientation: a slate is a surface for working things out, and a bridge is what connects what a company knows to what it can actually do with that knowledge. That framing shapes every engagement we take on.
We operate from Kuala Lumpur and work primarily with Malaysian businesses. Our client base includes professional services firms, product companies with customer-facing teams, and operators preparing for a planning or growth conversation. We do not work across every sector — we work well in a few, and we are direct about the difference.
— Mission
What we are here to do
Our work is about organising what companies already know. Not introducing new frameworks for the sake of it. Not producing reports that sit in a folder. The outputs we deliver are meant to be used by the team that receives them, without needing a follow-up session to understand what they say.
We think good advisory work is mostly listening and shaping — drawing out the knowledge that already exists in a company and arranging it so it becomes accessible and useful. That is what we do across all three of our engagements.
"Organise what you know. Act on what matters."
— Slatebridge operating principle
— Our People
The Slatebridge team
A small group of consultants with backgrounds across operations, research, and customer experience. We keep the team tight so the work stays consistent.
Nadia Ibrahim
Principal Consultant
Nadia leads client engagements and is the primary contact for most projects. She has spent twelve years working with mid-sized Malaysian companies on operational and customer-facing challenges before founding Slatebridge.
Rafiq Zainudin
Research & Synthesis Lead
Rafiq handles the research and documentation work across engagements. He brings a background in market analysis and has a particular interest in the way companies frame their competitive environment when preparing for a planning cycle.
Sharmini Yogaraj
Systems & Process Consultant
Sharmini leads the Feedback System Design program and advises on process design more broadly. She focuses on building structures that work within a company's existing tools and rhythms rather than requiring new infrastructure.
— How We Work
Standards we hold ourselves to
These are not aspirational statements. They describe how we actually run engagements and what clients can expect.
Confidentiality as a baseline
Every engagement is covered by a confidentiality agreement. Client documents, session content, and business information are not discussed outside the engagement.
Defined scope, defined deliverables
We confirm exactly what you will receive before any engagement begins. Scope does not expand without discussion and mutual agreement.
Readable, usable outputs
Deliverables are written for the people who will use them, not to demonstrate effort. Plain language, clear structure, practical format.
Consistent consultant assignment
The same consultant handles your engagement from initial conversation through to final delivery. No handoffs mid-engagement.
Data handling with care
Any data or documents shared with us are stored with appropriate controls and deleted at the end of the engagement unless retention is agreed in writing.
Honest about fit
If an initial conversation suggests our engagements are not the right shape for what you need, we say so. We would rather point you in a better direction than take on work we cannot do well.
— Our Approach
Advisory work grounded in what your company already knows
The most common starting point for our engagements is a company that has good information spread across too many places. Customer knowledge sits in account manager notes, in the memory of long-standing staff, in feedback emails that were read once and archived. Market understanding comes from informal conversations at industry events rather than from a single document the team can reference.
Slatebridge's work is oriented around organising that existing knowledge into forms that a team can actually use. The Customer Journey Mapping session does this for the customer experience. The Market Research Synthesis engagement does it for competitive and market context. The Feedback System Design program builds the ongoing infrastructure that keeps customer input flowing to the people who need it.
We are a Kuala Lumpur firm, and the work is shaped by that. Malaysian business relationships carry particular conventions around directness, hierarchy, and pace. Our facilitation approach takes those conventions seriously rather than importing frameworks that were designed for a different context. Sessions are structured but not rigid. Conversations are held with the people who actually run the work, not only with those who commissioned it.
Our engagements are sized for small and mid-sized businesses. We do not work at the scale of large management consulting firms, and that is by design. At the scale we operate, the work stays close to the client's reality, the consultant remains involved throughout, and the deliverables are shaped by what we actually observed — not by what a template expects us to find.
— Work With Us
If you think there is a fit, let's have a conversation.
A short initial call helps us both understand whether one of our engagements makes sense for your situation. No obligation to proceed.
